2025 TELSTECH Reunion Report

This year was more hectic than last year. We had a Catch-Up in Perth, a Get-Together in Canberra, and the Annual Reunion in Brisbane. They were all successful and we hope to continue with them as long as members attend. A huge thank you is extended to Milky and Mark Wilson who provided Bar Snacks at the Paddo Reunion.

The 2026 Get-Together will be at the Henley Grange RSL, in Adelaide on 07 Feb 2026, 1500 to 1800 hrs. Please get your name to us via the option choice on Facebook. Remember, any response is not a commitment. So, a YES is not binding. There will be no financial impost. It is so that we can create name tags.

The 2027 Get-Together could possibly be in Newcastle, Townsville or Tasmania. The 2026 TELSTECH Reunion will be on Fri, 29 May 26, at the Paddo. Mark it on your calendars.

The 2025 Djinnang Reunion main topic of interest was Reunions. As there is less income from memberships, Djinnang discussed having biennial Reunions. It was voted down. So next year’s Communicators Reunion will be on Sat, 30 May 2026 at the Paddo.

Due to the number of people who have chosen the best option of Life Membership, our annual income has decreased somewhat. In future, we may have to restrict the Associations outgoing expenditures. That is funds expended on Reunions and Get-Togethers.

The website is still starving for photos. If you have any, send them in. As well as any relevant articles.

Along the same vein, please ensure that your contact details are current. If you know of other TTs who need an update, please let us know. One way you can check is by accessing the website TELSTECH Lists. Unknown members are on the ‘Uncontactable List’.

A huge topic up for discussion is DVA. The current DVA situation is that the three compensation Acts (VEA, DRCA, and MRCA) that were in place, have now been combined into one. Claims that may not have been submitted or accepted are been reviewed. The first step is to acquire a DVA card. If you have served one day in uniform, Full Time or Reserve, you are entitled to a DVA Card. Contact DVA to get one.
